Dupa anuntul celor de la Citroen Racing de a se retrage din Campionatul Mondial de Raliuri, zvonurile privind mutarea lui Sebastien Ogier la echipa Toyota au fost oficial confirmate. Dupa o cariera de succes alaturi de constructorii Volkswagen, M-Sport Ford si Citroen, pentru pilotul francez urmeaza o noua provocare, aceea de a incerca sa castige inca un titlu mondial, de aceasta data alaturi de constructorul japonez Toyota.
Astfel, echipa lui Tommi Makinen se va alinia la startul sezonului 2020 din Campionatul Mondial de Raliuri in urmatoarea componenta:
- Sebastien Ogier/ Julien Ingrassia
- Elfyn Evans/ Scott Martin
- Kalle Rovanpera/ Jonne Halttunen
Cu doar trei echipe ramase in WRC in 2020, lupta pentru un scaun de pilot este stransa in saptamanile care urmeaza, M-Sport fiind singurii unde un numar mare de sportivi se pot indrepta. Cu Kris Meeke si Jari-Matti Latvala ramasi fara loc in echipa condusa de Tommi Makinen, se pune in discutie cine va ocupa scaunul lasat liber de Elfyn Evans. Cum Latvala a mai “alergat” alaturi de echipa lui Malcolm Wilson, finlandezul are o sansa mare sa concureze cu un Ford Fiesta in 2020. Printre pilotii care se lupta pentru un program in sezonul viitor se numara si Esapekka Lappi, Mads Ostberg sau Andreas Mikkelsen.
English: Toyota Gazoo Racing has just announced the new driver line-up for 2020. The three drivers that will drive the Yaris in the next season will be Sebastien Ogier, ex-Citroen driver, Elfyn Evans, who moved from M-Sport, and Kalle Rovanpera, the young talented driver who crowned WRC2 champion in 2019.
Sebastien Ogier will be targeting his 7th title in the WRC in the Toyota, while Elfyn Evans’ role will be to gather as many points for the team, in order for them to crown manufacturer champions, as in 2018. Kalle Rovanpera, the young talented driver, has demonstrated that he is very fast and has been proposed a year with the Yaris model in order to gather experience and get faster each rally.
